Afterword

A marriage is something that the Japanese people of the past would have seen as a natural act. Growing up to become an adult, getting married, and building a family was the norm, and if you were still alone at an older age, your family and surroundings would force you into marriage interviews.

However, we have reached a time where marriage isn’t necessary. You have the choice to remain unmarried, and still have children at the same time…it feels like marriage isn’t the natural path of every person any longer. You don’t have to get married no matter what. Then, is there even a meaning to getting married? As I am married myself, I often ask myself that question.

Hello everyone, this is Nozomi Kouta. The new series began. Our heroine this time is an older Onee-san, who acts as a childhood friend and ex-girlfriend at the same time. It’s a romcom talking about a fake marriage with said ex-girlfriend. I’ve wanted to write about a fake marriage for some time, and after giving it a lot of thought, I chose to go with the ex-girlfriend.

Basically, these two still have lingering attachments for the other, constantly agonizing and thinking to themselves ‘I have to forget about him/her already…’, which makes you realize that they are entering a fake of a fake marriage, basically a real marriage, as they still have feelings for each other. If they could just take one step, they would be greeted by a happy end, yet they end up twisted like this. Even I, as the author, feel irritated.

Since I have a lot of things to write about, I’d like to make this a longer series. As for the second volume, I had thought of adding an episode about the wedding ring, as I had to sadly cut that for the first volume.

However…Around the time I finished writing this first volume, I realized that all the heroines in this series are in their twenties, so will this even be continued, I wonder…?

Now, my thanks.

To my editor, I’ve been in your care as always. We had to make a lot of agreements, but I believe we created an entertaining novel.

As for my illustrator Pyonkichi-sama, we’ve worked together before, but your illustrations continue to amaze me. I love every single one of them, but my personal favorite is still the cover illustration, I have to say.

More than anybody else, my greatest thanks goes to all the readers who decided to buy this book. If there is a second volume, I hope we will see each other again.

  2. God this series was so freaking cute. Hopefully, it won’t get axed just because the main characters are in their adulthood and therefore the series is unpopular lol.
