Final Spring with Maka-sensei

Outside the window, a calm April sky towered above me. The cherry blossom petals had already started falling, but it’s still Spring. It had gotten warmer by now, which left me not needing my knitted hat, scarf, and gloves any longer. Spring continued to deliver warm weather for a while, at this rate I might just be able to keep my winter clothes in the closet until the end of the year.

At the same time as the days became warmer—the first term as a third-year began. Lunch break arrived, and the classroom grew noisy. The peeps in my class roughly stayed the same from last year, so the scenery felt more nostalgic than anything.

“You didn’t go to the cafeteria. Want to eat me as a side dish, your wish?”

“That’s not why!”

The person who sat at the same desk as me, Kisou Tenka-san, spat out, as she enjoyed her lunch. She possessed twintails which fit her adorable face, but her tone sadly was the exact opposite of that. Because of her large breasts unbefitting of her small stature, she was very much popular with the male classmates. Apparently a lot of them had screamed in joy at the fact they were lucky enough to be in the same class.

“I don’t mind turning into your side dish, Saigi. I’m willing to supply, won’t even sigh.”

“What exactly!?”

In fact, Tenka-san is Maka-sensei’s blood-related little sister, and we’ve been friends for about a year now. After our field trip to Kyoto last term, we’ve gotten even closer…To a level where we would each lunch together.

“Well, many newcomers are filling the cafeteria during this month. Must be exciting for them, since the middle school division doesn’t have a cafeteria in the first place. I’m just avoiding the place for now, and it seems like Miharu is fine with bread. “

My little sister has her favorite household bread and sandwiches from the Galaxy Market across the street of our flat. To us siblings, this Galaxy Market is like an important lifeline, I wish they’d start giving out discounts for regulars.

“Hmm…I’ll leave it then, well then.”

“Please do.”

At the cafeteria, that glutton isn’t there anymore, knowing full well she’d get scolded later on. With no real reason to head there anymore, I don’t feel too motivated to eat the bloated cafeteria. Then again, that’s only the case for now. Eventually, I’ll get tired of bread, and start eating lunch at the cafeteria. That’s all there is to it.

“Makoto-san, you’re eating only bread again?”

“The teriyaki chicken egg bread from Galaxy Markt is delicious, you know? Want a bite, Enri?”

Enri, a classmate of ours, passed by my desk, who I offered a piece of my bread, which she gladly accepted.

“Ah, it really is delicious. The tennis club members often stop by at a convenience store on the way home…maybe I should join them sometime.”

Shinbou Enri—She’s a friend I’ve known ever since the grade school division here at Seikadai. She apparently has foreign blood, which gives her long and beautiful blonde hair, a lovable Alice band on her head. In our second year, we had been in different classes, but now we’re in the same. That being said, we had been in the same class many times before, so it doesn’t feel that fresh.

On a side note, Enri’s the current student council president, the ace of the tennis club, and a beauty like she was painted on a canvas.

“It doesn’t hurt for the student council to buy bread, right? Wouldn’t hurt your image if people knew you’re just a normal human being.”

“If you don’t change your image, people will assume you’re a tyrant. Use your knight-like blonde hair, and swing around your holy sword.”

“You two really say whatever you want! If I were to swing around a sword, I would get fired from my position!”

“Then Miharu would become the new student council president…Maybe I should support her, as an older brother?”

As a matter of fact, Miharu was doing some great work as the vice president. She’d probably rock if as the full-fledged president.

“Ah, but, Miharu’s been acting off as of late for some reason.”

“What happened to her? She brought out another weird app?”

That reminds me, Miharu made some weird work app for Tenka-san.

“That’d be the least of my problems…actually, not really. She’s learning English remotely, and talks with some famous programmer that our parents introduced to her.”

“Ahh…I was pretty surprised before. All the documents she handed in were in English. She said ‘It just happened’ even.”

“H-Hmm…We do have a lot of students that are on a negative English level, but I feel like Miharu was on an average level last year…”

“Even if the older brother doesn’t, a little sister does. Without an older sister, the younger doesn’t.”

“Oh, Kisou-san, do you have an older sister by any chance? Hmm…That reminds me, you seem quite familiar for some reason…”

“Ah, umm, more importantly! Enri, did you want something from me?”

That was close. The fact that Maka-sensei and Tenka-san are sisters is supposed to stay a secret. It would bring some troublesome doubts, especially since Maka-sensei is our homeroom teacher.

“I didn’t have any business like that. Are you saying that I shouldn’t be talking to you if I didn’t?”

“N-No, not at all. How about you eat lunch together with us tomorrow? I’ll buy your favorite bread, even.”

“That doesn’t sound too bad. However, Makoto-san, were you always the type to simply invite a girl like this?”

“…I’m a third-year now, after all.”

I came up with a convenient excuse, and after making promises with Enri, she went back to her seat.

“Phew…Did I really change that much?”

“Who knows? But, are you sure about this, Saigi? It’s a new harem member.”

“W-We’re just eating lunch together, there’s no problem. Not to mention that Enri had been my friend for a while.”

We’re not in grade school, so there’s no way our homeroom teacher would eat lunch together with us. I don’t have to worry about Maka-sensei finding out…Wait, why does it sound like I’m going around cheating?

“I’ll stay over at Onee-chan’s place tonight, been a while. Tomorrow I’ll be able to see Saigi’s blood puddle, with a smile.”

“What do you plan on reporting to her?!”

And, why is it written in stone that I’ll be dead tomorrow!? Either way, even after becoming a third-year, my surroundings are as noisy as ever. Even though I know that things won’t stay like this.

Seikadai Academy is a prestigious and private school. Most students follow the elevator system, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t willing to study. School-internally, there’s many self-study rooms for the students. As a second-year, I tried to avoid these locations, but after moving up to the third-year, I started naturally making my way there. Then again, it’s still April, I’ve only been a third-year for a few days. Using family restaurants or karaoke bars ain’t half bad, but for some stoic studying, these self-study rooms are the best.

“………”

Of course, inside the room reigned silence. There’s a few friends quietly whispering to each other, but everyone is clever enough not to scream in here. Looking at my workbook, I started going through my English reading comprehension tasks. Honestly, I was never that good in English, but I’m making some great progress. I guess Maka-sensei’s teaching methods seem to be working out.

The reason I managed to get in the upper ranks of my year’s scores is because my English grades started to rise, which pulled up my other subjects as well. I’m happy about my grades going up. This means that Maka-sensei is in a good mood, and I have the chance to even study outside Seikadai. Though, the more opinions I have, the more things I have to worry about. If anything, I’m unsure if I should stay at Seikadai, or head for an outsider university.

Thanks to Maka-sensei, my grades went up, and I have more opportunities now. She even gave me this odd graduation exam. Damn it, I’m not good at multitasking things, especially not if it’s two big things like these.

“…Hm?”

There, I realized. Two girls had sat down at my sides. I didn’t even pick up on that until a second ago. I wonder, are these two friends? Maybe I should switch seats with them?

“It’s been a while, Saigi-senpai. You were pondering about something, huh. Are you trying to solve that difficult of a question?”

“The high school division has rooms like this, huh. I’m kind of nervous now.”

“………Who?”

From what I could see, these two were first-years. Since most students move up with the escalator system, you see a lot of familiar faces even when moving up a school.

“Wow, Saigi-senpai’s memory is as bad as always…”

“I felt like this would happen. When we went up to the middle school division, he showed a similar reaction.”

“………”

Now that they complained, their faces looked oddly familiar. One of them, her hair in braids, speaks in a more sportive tone, and the other with the short hair had this sweet tone…Their voices I heard before.

“Ahh, um…Natsuki and Amae?”

“That took a whole lot out of you, huh.”

“Well, I’m shocked he even remembers us.”

The one with the braids was Natsuki, and the one with short hair Amae. I don’t know their family names. Since my memory of them is so vague, I’m shocked I got it right. Natsuki and Amae always had an oddly close sense of distance.

“Hey, hey, Saigi-senpai, do you have a moment right now?”

“You ask that now? Just keep it quiet.”

Natsuki brought her face closer to me.

“Is it true that you ended up in a rumour with that Maka-tea last year?”

“………”

“The rumours even reached the middle school division. You know, Maka-tea is responsible as the English teacher of the first years. I’ve never seen a beauty like that. I couldn’t help but wonder.” Amae continued after Natsuki, her eyes glowing with excitement.

I was just thinking about Maka-sensei, what kind of timing is this…

“…Also, the first-years call her Maka-tea?”

Isn’t that a bit too rebellious—friendly towards a teacher they just got a few days ago?

“Eh? I heard that everyone at the high school division calls her like that, though?”

“Yup, Maka-tea ain’t complaining either.”

“I-Is that so.”

I guess that one nickname really spread…Though, I doubt the entire student body is calling her like that. The first-years probably don’t know of the perfect ‘Unobtainable Flower’ Fuiki Maka, which is why they can act like that towards her.

“And, what about that rumour?”

“There was a picture going around of you pushing her to the wall, with a wall-slam. That wasn’t photoshopped right? To think Saigi-senpai would be aiming for a beautiful teacher like that…”

“………That just happened on a whim. I’m a siscon, so I don’t have any eyes for a woman but Miharu.”

“Hey now, Onii-chan, don’t scare the first-years like that.” Someone gently tapped me on the shoulder.

Turning around, I was greeted by a tired gaze, and a black-haired ponytail. Beneath her blazer, she wore a hoodie—my very own cute little sister, Saigi Miharu. She held a tablet in her hand, which she apparently used to tap on my shoulder before.

“You two first years, what Onii-chan’s saying is mostly nonsense. He most definitely is interested in girls besides Miharu as well.”

“…That phrasing makes it sound only worse, you know that?”

It’s like you’re accepting the fact that I see you as a woman.

“I guess high school students really go for everything, huh…”

“Also, it’s SaiMiha-senpai, you’re the student council prez here, right?”

Lord help me, I don’t know what to retort on first. Being a high school student doesn’t mean you just suddenly start gunning for your little sister, okay? The first-years call Miharu ‘SaiMiha’? She’s not the student council prez, but the vice president. We have a student council president who sticks out this much, and yet you thought Miharu was in that position?

“Sorry to bust in here when you were getting excited in your conversation, but that Fujiki-sensei is calling for you.”

“Eh?”

Maka-sensei called for me? Through Miharu?

“You two first-years, Miharu has to borrow Onii-chan for a second. If you’re interested in that rumour, check out that red tweet.”

“H-huh? SaiMiha-senpai, why do you know my LINE ID?”

“R-Right. I got her as a friend, and I don’t remember adding you.”

Both Natsuki and Amae looked at their phones, growing pale. It seems like Miharu went ahead and sent them some delicious information. I can’t blame them for being shocked, my little sister is really good at fidgeting with other people’s accounts…

“Let’s go, Onii-chan.”

“…Right.”

I was in the middle of studying, you know…Then again, I doubt that would work, for both Miharu and Maka-sensei. Just going with the flow here leaves things the most uncomplicated. That’s what I learned over the past year. No needless actions necessary.

In reality, Miharu took me to the student council office. Since I’ve been here countless times before, it’s fair to say that I’m feeling nostalgic. I was even threatened to be hanged here by a certain organization…

“…Saigi-kun. Saigi-kun, are you listening?”

“Eh? Ah, yes. I am.”

Awaiting me in the student council office was Maka-tea—Excuse me, Maka-sensei, wearing her usual suit. Following that, Miharu said something along the lines of ‘Ahh, the troubles of the busy’, and walked off somewhere. Also, where’s the other student council members at?

“You’re definitely not, Saigi-kun. Let me explain it again. The person responsible for general affairs in the student council had to quit because of her certain family reasons.”

“Sounds tough.”

Probably has to help with the family business.

“That being said, it’s not so easy to get new members for the student council. Not to mention that the current student council is seen as a reformist group. Especially for Miharu-san, who has started to proceed with everything digitally. Everything about the club budget, which had been handled by hand and written on paper, will be turned digitally this year only, and Miharu-san is even working on a school internal social network. The budget meetings will be archived as well.”

“What is that little sister of mine doing.”

She’s already working on the digitization and preservation of data at high speed…

“We get a lot of complaints about the club budget distribution each year, all from various clubs. They always requested more transparency, and the details of that decision, which made the procedures even more slower.”

“……”

For someone like me, who isn’t part of any club, I couldn’t care less to be honest…But, if my little sister’s doing the heavy carrying, I can’t ignore that. Seriously, what is she doing…When is she going to add VR to the school?

“That being the case, we’ll have you join as a temporary student council member.”

“Alright, got it. What should I do?”

“Hold on, aren’t you a bit too understanding!? Where did your skilled retorts wander off to!?”

“I’m a third-year now, so I figured I might as well calm down a bit.”

Also, I could guess as much, from the flow of the conversation. I’ve been wrapped up in a lot of things this past year, thanks to Maka-sensei.

“How boring…Then again, that’ll be some great help.”

“You were the vice-advisor for the student council, right.”

I totally forgot. I still don’t really know what kind of work Maka-sensei does.

“Thankfully, I’ve become the fully-fledged advisor this year. It’s my third year as a newcomer here, and I was already given this duty, what do you think now?”

“I mean, you were the student council here during your JK days, right? Also, you’re not a newcomer when you’re in your third year.”

“I don’t like admitting my age, see…And, I don’t have that much power.”

“It seems like I don’t have to fear your absolute reign just yet.”

“What image do you have of me…”

The successor of the vice principal, for starters. Then again, she’s barely 25, so it’ll still take some time for that.

“Anyway, we were talking about the student council. You’re a third-year now, so I won’t ask for the impossible…”

“I don’t have any chance either way. It’s fine, I don’t mind helping my little sister and a friend.”

“Indeed, the current student council is full of girls after all.”

“A legal harem, yes.”

“…You’ve gotten so strong, Saigi-kun. As your homeroom teacher, I feel like crying.”

I survived an environment that forced me to become strong yes, thanks to a certain someone.

“…So, where did my new harem members go?”

“They’re busy now that the new year started. Checking out clubs, participating in committees, there’s lots of work outside the student council office.”

“Huh…”

Were the peeps doing the same thing last year? To me, it only seemed like that former student council president just went around fixing my uniform, threatened to hang me, and didn’t actually work too much.

“Then, could you take care of it right now? Feel free to use that laptop over there.”

“Ah, sure.”

I sat down in front of the laptop standing on the edge of the long table.

“You will find the necessary files in the ‘General Affairs’ folder. It has the estimated club budget uses from the various clubs in there, so could you match them with the previous ones to check them?”

“Sounds like some fairly normal work…I thought I was going to do some useless work, like digging holes and filling them again.”

“There’s also the part where we need to input all of the documents since the foundation of the school onto PC documents, want to take care of that as well?”

“What a wonderful work this is~”

There’s literally no meaning to put these old documents into digital form!

“It can’t be helped. I’ll put the limit for the full digitalization that Miharu-san planned a hundred years down the line.”

“Please do that…”

In other words, nobody will bother with that. Thank god.

“Then, I’ll start.”

“Sorry about this. You were in the self-study room, right? I know it’s a bit late to ask that, but are your studies coming along?”

“It really is late. But, it’s fine. You’re not going to have me help out every single day, after all.”

“………”

“You’re joking, right?”

“Of course I am. I can’t come here every single day. I can make it maybe two times a week, so if you could help out then, I’d greatly appreciate it.”

“Huh…”

Isn’t she just using this as an excuse to see me?

“Ah, I need to take care of my work as well. Now that I’m the official advisor, my workload has only gone up, you see. To think I would return to this room and work here again, I can’t believe it…” Maka-sensei muttered as she operated her tablet.

“Um, Sensei…?”

“Not to mention that there’s small but definite differences compared to my time. My previous knowledge is getting in the way…Ah, Saigi-kun, were you saying something?”

“Ah, no…Nothing at all.”

I know this isn’t the English preparation room, but I figured that she would get to the main topic now that it’s just the two of us here. Did she really just call me because the student council needed help? Maybe it’d be better if I just stayed quiet, since she apparently is that busy. But…I can’t help being curious about it. When is this ‘timing’ she mentioned before at the future guidance counselling room…?

That night, inside the Saigi Family’s living room…I had borrowed Miharu’s laptop, and furiously tapped on the keyboard.

“God damn it…even though I have the principle of not taking any work home with me…”

To think I’d have to go take-out on my first day with this new job…Checking the planned club budgets is quite tough. Maybe it’s because I’m rather stingy about things like these, I tend to carefully check if the usage of sports grounds and gym hall are matching up, and all that.

Maka-sensei told me I could just come another day to keep working on it, but I really don’t want to keep work for the next day. Maybe it’s my mentality as a student?

“Mako, how are your studies coming along? I know you planned to go up the elevator, but if you let down your guard too much, you’ll go down the Manasshii route.”

“It’s not that bad, alright.”

Keimi Shiya-chan sat together with me at the living room table. She’s my childhood friend, and a university student attending Seikadai University. She has long flash brown hair, possessing quite the beauty, which makes her look like a gal on the outside, but she’s very honest and diligent on the inside. She apparently managed to make it to her third year at university as well.

“Ah, she appeared in yesterday’s drama. It took about two hours, but they finally cornered her fully.

“…So she went up from victim to being the criminal, huh.”

I guess they’re still doing some basic and generic dramas like that nowadays.

“I’m glad her work is moving along smoothly. Maybe it really was the right choice to switch a school, because she probably won’t have much time to attend it.”

“You really aren’t honest, Mako. Be a bit more happy for her, will you.”

“…I am happy. If I don’t see her face every day, I might just start missing her.”

As a matter of fact, I’m checking her youtsube videos on a constant basis. When I saw her channel subs back then, I was already shocked, but now she got up to even a million over the course of the past three months. And, I don’t see any signs of her stopping.

“I can’t relax just yet, I guess. I might not win in terms of money I’m earning, but my work isn’t any less compared to hers.”

“Right, how’s your work as a cram school teacher going?”

Even now, Shiya-chan is my homeroom teacher. During my important third-year, she’s properly looking after my studies. That being said, it’s like she’s teaching her own younger brother, so it’s hard calling this a job. Since she will soon become a member of society, she apparently wants to get some work experience. That’s why she’s acting as an apprentice cram school teacher at a nearby cram school aimed at middle school students.

“Just because they’re middle school students doesn’t make it any easier. It’s much different from teaching your younger brother. Have to be more considerate.”

“I’d prefer it if you were considerate towards your younger brother as well, Onee-san.”

She sat right next to me, reading through her curriculum at the cram school. Her perfume and scent tickled my nose, stimulating my senses.

“I might not be more considerate, but I do prefer Mako over the students from the cram school. I need to think of my students as family, or I won’t be able to teach them.”

“…Please do.”

I’m not thinking something disgusting like wanting to be spoiled the most. Well, I guess it’s thanks to Shiya-chan teaching me that my grades went up. I’m sure she’ll be just fine at the cram school.

“Our cram school isn’t exactly elite, but the level’s pretty high, and so is the evaluation.”

“I heard about that myself.”

A few of my friends back in middle school attended that cram school as well.

“That’s why the pay’s pretty solid, and I can even move up from part-time worker to full employee.”

“Hm? Shiya-chan, do you plan on becoming a cram school teacher?”

“I don’t wanna look for a job…I’m more than busy with my own exams.”

“That took an odd turn.”

“Kagome has it nice. She can just loiter around the house all day~”

She was referring to Saigi Kagome, a white cat we’ve been keeping since last year, currently occupying the middle floor of the cat tower we kept inside the living room. Normally cats like high-up places, but I guess Kagome can’t be bothered, which is why she stays at that level. Despite that, she always acts like she’s above others, possessing adorable fur, not complaining about anything. She really resembles a certain someone…By the way, that very Miharu is currently busy with a remote meeting.

“I have two more years at university. Once that’s done, I have to work for good, imprisoned for the next 40 years.”

“Imprisoned…”

“I can’t color my hair the way I want, always put on make-up, and wear a suit every single day, you know? Not to mention that I have to listen to my superiors no matter what.”

“You’re slowly getting depressed…”

“I want to go all out while I still can. Maybe I should dye my hair pink?”

“You’re going for a second university debut in university?”

“Can we stop with the debut joke now!?”

“Thinking about it, thanks to your university debut, you can enjoy being this stylish…so will you even bother once you graduate? Will you even be able to live on?”

“Noooo! I want to flash off my youth!” Shiya-chan complained loudly.

I guess that university life might seem comfortable from my point of view, but for these students themselves, it must be full of worries as well. Shiya-chan might have been able to resolve her regrets from high school, but there’s always something to worry about in life.

“A mixture of pink should be fine. Maybe silver? They sell that at a drugstore, should I buy some for you?”

“Isn’t silver a bit too much!? It feels like I’m back with middle schooler’s syndrome!”

“Shiya-chan, you can’t color it silver once you’re working, you know?”

“Yeah, definitely won’t be the case once I am a cram school teacher, alright.”

“That’s why you need to go all out while you still can. Rather than going from a social loner to popular gal, why not go above and beyond, plus ultra.”

“I see, I feel like I get what you’re talking about…Maybe I should go for silver after all…”

Is it really okay for her to be this easy? I know I’m the one who brought it up, but if she really goes for silver, I’ll stop her with everything I can. It really seems like not only Maka-sensei and I feel like we’re running out of time.

“—This being the case, rather than raising your knowledge of simple vocabulary for English reading comprehension, it’s more important to focus on longer texts, and even if you don’t know a part, you keep reading and try to figure out its meaning. There’s times when unfamiliar words appear even in our Japanese books and newspaper articles, right? You don’t need to understand every single world, as long as you can figure out the context—”

“………”

Maka-sensei stood at the teacher’s desk, giving us a lecture in preparation for the exams. Although many students decide on going up to Seikadai’s university, they still offer techniques for entrance exams. Of course, she teaches us important knowledge, especially related to English, that will help us in society…Man, there’s many things to learn.

“My, Saigi-kun, your expression seems to be complicated about something. Is there anything you don’t understand?”

“Eh? Ah, no, not really.”

Since Maka-sensei suddenly called out to me, I reflexively answered.

“That is great to know. Then, how about we have you translate this entire page.”

“Ehhh!?”

I let down my guard, since she normally doesn’t call out people. Damn it, today’s text is especially difficult…I don’t think I can do this without pre-reading it. Help me out, Tenka-san, or Enri!

““………””

…Or so I thought, but both of these didn’t even bother to look at me. I guess I didn’t raise my friendship level with them enough…They’re different from a certain organization’s members after all.

“U-Um…’Fall…The abandoned palace was more than functionable for the fortress of the warriors. That being said, the entire world gathered the warriors…formation’.”

“It seems like you need some more practice, Saigi-kun.”

“Urk…I-I’m sorry.”

Also, what kind of battle fantasy is this?

“Then, Shinbou-san. Can you show us what the top 3 of the student year, and the student council president, can do?”

“Yes. ‘The known fallen palace had been made functionable as a fortress for the courageous warriors. That being said, the warriors that had gathered from all over the world had created several smaller groups, gathering inside and outside the palace. That being said, this was more than enough for—’”

“Ugh…”

That’s Enri for you, I can’t hope to compete against her. Enri had always been an honor student, but her grades only went up even more now that she’s the student council president. Well, she had a legendary predecessor, so I guess she’s feeling the pressure of following in her footsteps.

“That’s enough. Well done, Shinbou-san. Saigi-kun, I hope you learn a bit from this example. Now, onwards to the next page…”

Maka-sensei gave me a sharp warning, to which Enri looked over at me, snickering. Damn it, do I really have to study even more than this…

“This following page might looked complicated, but thanks to Shingou-san’s excellent translation—”

“………”

Maka-sensei’s lessons are always simple to follow, and the explanations are easy to use. That’s why all the other students around were listening diligently. I’m not the only one who suddenly started studying for real in this third year. Most of the students currently present probably aimed to stay inside Seikadai. However, you never know when the situation might change. That’s why, lessons in hindsight towards entrance exams never hurt, and everyone seems to be agreeing with that.

To the students here at Seikadai, Maka-sensei is someone very important. So far, right now—and even in the future.

Classes ended for the day. After studying for about an hour in the self-study room, I made my way home. It’s a bit shorter than I usually study for, but since I have to go shopping today, it can’t be helped. Because my life is so fulfilling, I can work hard on my studies after all. Since Miharu’s working hard at the student council, I want to make her some delicious food.

“Hmm…Maybe I went a bit too far.”

For the sake of my meat-loving little sister, I bought some expensive beef. I got some great onions and Chinese cabbage, so today’s menu will be sukiyaki.

“Ah, Makoto-kun?”

“Eh? Oh.”

Right as I looked down at the plastic bag in my hand, a voice suddenly called out to me. There’s only one woman in this world who calls me ‘Makoto-kun’.

“Hello, Kouko-sensei.”

“It’s been a while, hasn’t it. Ah, were you out shopping? You’re as diligent as always when it comes to your housework.”

“Indeed, I have to take care of my little sister after all…You seem to be in a good mood, Sensei.”

She had long, black hair that shone navy-blue, tied up behind her back, together with a thin shirt and slim jeans. Although she’s supposedly in her thirties, she looks barely in her twenties. If anything, she didn’t change much from when I was in kindergarten. Is she some type of vampire? This person is Shinju Kouko, her maiden name being Kyoji.

She was my teacher in kindergarten, and the person who deceived me to get married on her own.

“Kouko-sensei is always full of energy~”

“I’m glad to hear that, Sensei.”

“My beloved husband is living on his own now, so there’s one less person rolling around at home, which is a burden off my mind~”

“Can’t you treat him a bit more nicely, he went to leave all alone and respect the decision of your beloved daughter.”

“I will never know when the next woman walks into his apartment at night.”

“You already made it a premise that he will cheat on you!?”

I’ve known Kouko-sensei’s husband for quite some time, and he seems the type of person to even evade talking with another woman except his wife!

“I was joking. I can say stuff like this exactly because I believe in him.”

“I figured as much, but I can never tell if you’re joking or serious.”

That’s the type of character she is.

“Let’s have some tea now that we’ve met. I’m still young, so I need to try and pick up a high school student from time to time.”

“…Sure, okay.”

If Maka-sensei were to find out that my first love was hitting on me, a blood bath would ensue. With these thoughts, I followed her to a nearby cafe, and was treated to some delicious English tea. Hmmm…I guess having some tea on the way home from school doesn’t hurt.

“You’re a third-year now, huh? It’s been a long time coming.”

“Agreed. Then again, your daughter has been growing rapidly as well.”

“Her breasts have grown even more, it’s honestly terrifying me.”

“I don’t think you should be spreading this kind of information!”

“If anything, I figure Muku would be happy about me doing this. You know, she could just wear a bra by now, but she’s embarrassed, and still chooses the boring sports bra.”

“I don’t think boring or not is a problem here…”

Shinju Muku—Kuu—Is a fifth-grader at Seikadai’s grade school division…Actually, she’s in sixth-grade now.

“Kouko-sensei, um…how is Kuu doing?”

“Hmm…So-so?”

“S-So-so? Is she not feeling well…?”

“No, she’s in great shape, growing up just fine. But, she’s still a bit hung up on her father being exiled.”

“Exiled… But, I can see that happening.”

Kuu had the choice between moving away together as a family, or stay here together with her mother, of which she chose the latter. Of course, I’m not as naive to think that my existence didn’t influence her decision…

“She’s properly keeping her condition of not running away from home. Never told her to not visit you, though.”

“That reminds me, this might be the first time I haven’t met Kuu for so long.”

Ever since that Christmas night, I haven’t seen Kuu, despite her always staying over at our place before that. Since the promise of not running away from home is something she came up with, she seems to be properly holding on to that. Of course, Miharu is pretty lonely as a result of that, and even Kagome is starting to grow restless.

“If you want, you can come visit us, Makoto-kun.”

“Ah…well.”

“Since my husband’s gone, you have free reign, you know?”

“Making it sound like I’d be some sort of paramour! But, can I take Kagome with me?”

“Ah, your cat? Please do. My husband’s gone now, after all. I’ll keep an escape route for you ready.”

“I’m not a paramour, alright!”

What do you want me to do, Kouko-sensei?! Well, leaving aside her jokes, it wouldn’t hurt to go visit the Shinju Family in a while. Technically, I am that girl’s ‘Sensei’ after all.

“…Kouko-sensei, why did you quit as a kindergarten teacher?”

“Hm? Do you have a grudge this late into the game?”

Ah, I blurted out something weird…But, I can’t take it back now.

“I-I was always curious as to why you quit.”

“All this time? You could have just asked me. I quit at the same time as you graduated. Since they were lacking people, I couldn’t quit in the middle of the year.”

“Ah…really?”

I feel like she announced her marriage right after I proposed, and quit a few days later…?

“I couldn’t just quit and vanish. Especially for the children there, they all need attention.”

“………”

She makes it sound like that kindergarten was some sort of black company. I keep hearing this term at Seikadai, so can we keep it there?

“You gave me that ring right before you guys graduated from the kindergarten. You don’t remember?”

“H-Hmmm…”

When I was a shota, I made a flower ring. Although I was a child back then, I made it with the intention of marrying her, so I feel like even I would remember that…

“Well, those were some small details. Why would I lie about that now?”

Kouko-sensei is the type of person to lie at her convenience, but I guess she wouldn’t bother this late into the game.

“That’s right…But, the time doesn’t really matter, I was just curious. Was it because of the marriage after all?”

“That’s the most important reason.”

“Because your husband told you to?”

“No way. My husband is the type of person to move alone so as to not make his daughter cry, remember? He wouldn’t pressure his wife to quit her work.”

I couldn’t agree more.

“I guess it was mainly because I was exhausted from work. The children are all cute, but you need a lot of endurance to work at a kindergarten. Makoto-kun, did you know? Most teachers that worked there back then quit by now.”

“Ehhhh…”

“The rate of quitters and joiners differentiates from the type of work, but it’s been like that at our kindergarten.”

The more I remember, the more depressed I feel.

“Hey, did that Fujiki-sensei quit Seikadai?”

“Eh? N-No…Why would you think that?”

“There could only be one teacher you’d be curious about even after they quit, right?”

“…That’s not true.”

There’s Hiyori-sensei, Hoshina-sensei, and even the vice principal.

“No, there’s no talk of her quitting.”

“Makes sense, she’s still young after all. That being said…”

“What is it?”

“Talented people tend to quit quite abruptly. That’s what happens a lot from what I’ve heard. Not to mention that there’s many who would wish to quit right away…Ah, I shouldn’t be saying these things in front of a student, huh.”

“You really shouldn’t…”

The talented people tend to quit abruptly. Thinking about it, that makes sense. They possess specs that allow them to find a better, and more well-paid workplace, so there’s no need for them to cling to a job. Knowing Maka-sensei, she could work anywhere, not only as a teacher. Now it doesn’t seem as impossible as it did before…

“Makoto-kun, are you pondering about something again? Youthful worries are a wonderful thing to have, but now as a third-year, you should be focussing on your studies.”

“…To think I would get serious advice from Kouko-sensei.”

“It seems like you didn’t have the best evaluation of me.” She gave me a scowl.

That being said, her words were true. This one year will end right away. It’s only April, but this isn’t the time to be taking my time. I do treasure Maka-sensei, but I also need to focus on my own future. I know that myself. But, this final year…this last year I get to spend with Maka-sensei at school, I don’t want to end it with just studying.

That’s what I think, and yet time mercilessly moves on. It’s just as Maka-sensei said, this final year will end in the blink of an eye. The health check-ups arrive, with strength and sports tests. Although we’re third-years, we still have to decide on committees and the class hierarchy. Everything is still as busy as before, which is why April passed swiftly.

“T-This is bad…”

We entered the later half of April, with Golden Week approaching. The third school term as a third-year is mostly freedom, so I need to do something before that. Thinking about the full August as part of the summer break, I barely have…Seven months?!

“…Saigi-kun. Saigi-kun.”

“Eh? Ah, yes?”

I was present in the student council office, after classes had ended. Working on my usual general affairs-related duties, someone called out to me behind my back. Turning around, I was greeted by a displeased Maka-sensei.

“I’ve been calling out to you many times by now. I have a request, actually.”

“I-I’m sorry. What is it?”

All the other student council members were gone today, participating in a meeting. Once that’s done, they will have more time, and I will be freed from my duty.

“Sorry about this, but could you come to the English preparation room with me?”

“Yes, of course.”

I closed the laptop, and stood up. I followed after Maka-sensei, onwards to the English preparation room. It’s been a while since I came here.

“Hm? Huh?”

“What’s wrong?”

“I just thought that something was off…”

The familiar English preparation room hadn’t changed from before, and yet something felt different. One of the desks, besides the one used by Maka-sensei, had moved.

“Ah, a new teacher will be using this room as well. Said that they’d be too nervous inside the staff office.”

“That reminds me, we got a new English teacher. A small and younger girl, right?”

“That’s Saigi-kun for you, scouting out new members for your harem.”

“T-That’s not what I was trying to do! She’s not responsible for the third-years’ English classes, I don’t really…!”

“Hmm…Well, I’ll leave it at that. I became something like her caretaker. That’s why I let her stay in my own castle.”

“I see…On a side note, your castle has turned quite messy, hasn’t it.”

“T-This can’t be helped.”

Maka-sensei’s desk was always full with documents and papers, but this situation definitely takes the cake. Documents and notes towered higher than Maka-sensei herself.

“Should we clean these up? It’d be a pain if an earthquake happened.”

“N-No! Don’t touch my desk with a single finger of yours!”

“…You don’t have to deny it that aggressively…”

Maka-sensei stood in front of her desk, protecting it like it was her own child. I mean, I guess there are some documents I shouldn’t be seeing, but…

“Can’t be helped. So, what did you want?”

“Ah, right. I need your help with carrying cardboard boxes.”

“These?”

Next to Maka-sensei’s desk stood three cardboard boxes. Written on these was ‘Teacher materials student council’, ‘Student council office desktop PC Nr1 Laptop Nr2’, and ‘XXXth Student council’.

“During spring break, we confirmed the documents of the student council, and added the ones that were not present on the pc, as well as updated the system software.”

“Even PC maintenance…”

“Asking a professional costs money, and the student council only has a limited budget. I went through that myself back in the day.”

“……”

That’s right, Maka-sensei isn’t just here for Enri and Miharu, but also for the others from the student council. She’s probably helping as much as possible so that Enri and the others don’t have that much work. That only heightened her burden yet again, but I’m glad she became the proper advisor.

“I’ll carry the cardboard box with the PCs.”

“No can do. I can’t have you carry something heavy as that. The documents for the teachers are lighter, so you take care of them.”

“I am a high school boy, you know? …You’re…probably not that weak, but I can’t have a woman carry something heavy like that.”

“I’m very curious about your thoughts when you said that, but I have probably more arm strength than you.”

“Probably…”

I could see her arms brimming with power.

“Hm? Wait a moment, this cardboard box, does it have documents from when you were the student council president?”

This ‘XXXth student council’ box looked oddly familiar. Isn’t that the one I carried to the storage room when we were looking into the culture festival last year?

“Enough about that. I need to remove any unnecessary proof—Excuse me, old documents that won’t be of help for the future.”

“Then I’ll be returning this to the storage room.”

“Saigi-kun, were you listening to me!?”

There’s no real reason to hide JK Maka-chan, but I’m very intrigued into unravelling the past of the current Maka-san. This seems to be all in order to protect her image as the Unobtainable Flower. Since her image had been breaking apart as of late, I feel like this is already too late of an emergency action.

“It’s not worth removing documents of this level, let alone stuffing them into the storage room of the student council office. Not to mention, that picture—” I remembered, and opened up the cardboard box. “…Maka-sensei, what about that picture?”

“Urk…”

Maka-sensei showed a troubled expression, and opened up the lock of her desk’s drawer. She had a lock on that? How thorough.

“If someone saw this, they might be reminded of my disgraceful behaviour back during the sports festival…Keeping it in darkness is probably my best bet…”

“Wasn’t the exhibition match a great success? Then again, if you want to keep this picture locked away, I won’t stop you…”

I accepted the picture she took out. It’s the same picture which showed student council president Fujiki Maka and the other members of the student council. Behind them was the advisor at the time, and Maka-sensei’s teacher—Fuuka Shiki-sensei. She wore a navy-blue suit, clearly looking like Maka-sensei.

“No, not necessarily. As long as it doesn’t reach the public, I don’t mind. Maybe I should have you hold on to it?”

“Eh? Are you sure about that?”

The JK Maka-chan inside the picture has faintly shorter hair than now. Unlike her cosplay uniform from before, she wore the main deal, possessing a different cuteness from then. If I were to put this on an auction here at the school, I could make thousands.

“You can’t sell it, okay?”

“O-Oh come on, I wouldn’t do something like that…”

That’s Sensei for you, she can tell exactly what I’m thinking. I mean, I wasn’t planning on actually selling it, you know. I wasn’t thinking that maybe this would help the student council’s budget in the slightest.

“…I wanted to know more about Fuuka-sensei, but all that time passed.”

“Fuuka-sensei…? Were you that curious about her?”

“Well, a bit…”

Even during that Christmas night, Maka-sensei spoke of Fuuka-sensei. There’s no mistaking it that Fuuka-sensei still is an important existence for her. Maybe Maka-sensei has similar importance for me.

“Haaaah…Alright, I understand.” Maka-sensei let out a sigh. “If you’re that curious…Would you like to have a look at this?”

“An USB memory drive? What’s on there?”

I saw a few USB memory drives on her desk before, but I never really bothered with them. I guess it makes sense that they’d store older data on media like this. Nowadays you upload everything onto the cloud.

“Wait a second.” Maka-sensei said, and put in the USB drive into the laptop, operating it. Following that, she pointed a remote at a nearby TV, turning it on. This takes me back to the time we were watching R15 slightly lewd videos. How nostalgic.

“Um…Ah, this file.”

With these words, a video started playing on the TV.

‘Eh, is this playing?’

Suddenly, a woman reflected up close appeared. For a second, I couldn’t tell who it was, but after a second to think about it, I realized that it was Fuuka Shiki-sensei. She seemed to be blinking in confusion. However, as I figured, she was a beauty after all.

‘There’s no meaning to me taking the video, right. It’s supposed to show the activities of the student council.’

‘You’re our advisor, Fuuka-sensei, so you need to be the one.’

“Ah.”

The voice following Fuuka-sensei’s was oddly familiar. The color of her voice was faintly different, but it definitely belonged to Maka-sensei. Though, more than her voice, it’s her way of talking. It feels more light, like a real high school girl. Once she became a high school girl, her tone of voice calmed down much more.

‘On top of that, this is a test photoshoot. Anybody is fine, really.’

‘Then, let me take a video of Fujiki-san. Everybody wants to see the unobtainable flower, surely.’

So even back then she was the unobtainable flower, huh. Fuuka-sensei, who was the one filming, stood next to the desk inside the student council office. Maka-sensei said it before, but the layout of the room didn’t change all too much.

‘No can do, you said that you were helpless with machines that have more than three buttons, right Fuuka-sensei?’

‘I-I won’t break it. This video camera belongs to the school after all.’

That reminds me, Fuuka-sensei was supposed to be helpless with this sort of stuff.

‘If you teach me how to use it, I can do it just fine. I want to leave behind a part of Fujiki-san’s high school life. I’ll be here for a hot minute, so you don’t bother about me.’

‘Will you really? If you don’t stop with your corporal punishment soon, you might get fired?’

‘Ugh…Fujiki-san, you really don’t hold back…’ Fuuka-sensei showed a hollow smile.

Was she really beating her students despite her fragile atmosphere? She looks like she couldn’t kill an ant if you ask me…

“Thinking about it, that was a total flag. Right after she said she’d stay at this school, she left us.”

“………”

I thought about it as well, but didn’t want to say it out loud…

‘That being said, if I was on there, it’d be boring…let’s strip instead!’

‘If we did that, we’d all get removed from the student council. A teacher stripping in front of a student is impossible.’

Oh is it now, JK Maka-chan!? If you were to see your future self, you would probably fall to despair. But, before I could retort on that, the scene suddenly changed. It seemed to be a collection of videos. They seemed to have moved from the student council office, but Fuuka-sensei was shown in the frame.

‘This has less and less to do with student council work, right…’

‘It’s important to show our advisor’s beloved car, which you use to make your home late after work, and drive home students.’

“………”

The nightmare…No, the red fiat stood in the school’s parking lot. It looked a lot newer and sparkly than it does now.

‘Maka-chan! That’s a secret! They’ll think I’m treating the students of the student council differently!’

‘I thought we were keeping the ‘-chan’ a secret as well…I’ll lose my pride and influence if people stop taking me seriously.’

‘I don’t think it would be that weird to add ‘-chan’ for a female student.’

That’s like Maka-sensei, careful about her character even in her younger days.

‘Also, the other students know that you’re taking me home with that red fiat. We got several eyewitnesses. On top of that, none of them are jealous or anything.’

‘Maybe they just enjoy going home by train?’

‘No…It’s just that you drive so carefully and within traffic laws that it’s scary. You don’t change the lane at all unless it’s absolutely necessary, you’re too careful when looking left and right that you won’t turn the corner at all, and when leaving the parking space, you always keep a minimum distance to the other cars no matter what.’

‘Sounds about right. But, thanks to that, I never ended up in an accident before.’

‘I don’t know what to think of that…’

Seems like Maka-sensei and Fuuka-sensei’s driving style are the exact opposite. But, they both adhere to traffic laws, it’s really weird.

‘If I’m not that confident in my safe driving, I wouldn’t be able to have a student on board with me. There’s nothing more important to a teacher than their students.’

‘…I’m shocked you can say such embarrassing things like that, Sensei.’

Indeed…Then again, Maka-sensei wouldn’t blurt out something embarrassing like this if the situation wasn’t too serious.

‘It’s not embarrassing at all. It’s the most important for a teacher. I will say that as many times as it takes, so that nobody will forget about it.’

‘Then I won’t be able to become a teacher. Why would I care about someone but me.’

JK Maka-chan says some harsh stuff, huh.

‘Really now? I feel like you’d be able to do it, Maka-chan. Right now, you might be busy with yourself, but once you’re an adult…’

‘…You really love saying things you have no basis for, Fuuka-sensei. Could you stop with that?’

‘Right, I should stop tying down a student with my words.’

The Fuuka-sensei in the video smiled. She really feels like a calm and gentle person, and even when talking, she doesn’t hold much strength in her voice. Not to mention that she really seems fragile, and about to disappear any second. This ‘fleeting’ feeling I get from her really sticks out.

‘It’s our job as teachers to offer you children as many options in the future as possible after all.’

‘…I’m a third-year now, so too many options are troublesome as well.’

‘Maka-chan, if you act a bit more cute, you might be more popular…Though, being too popular would be a problem.’

‘Well, I am used to a storm of men.’

“…Let’s leave it at that.”

Zap, the TV screen turned black. Maka-sensei seemed to have stopped the video.

“It doesn’t seem to be over yet though…”

“Nothing interesting happens after that conversation. Really, it’s boring, so don’t worry about it. You should have been able to understand plenty about Fuuka-sensei, right?”

“Right…And about Maka-chan as well.”

I looked at the picture again.

“I could tell that you and Fuuka-sensei deeply trusted each other.”

“Saigi-kun, were you watching properly? She was just toying with me.”

“I wonder…No, if you say so, then that must be the case.”

“You don’t seem too satisfied. Why not say everything that’s built up inside of you? The new teacher is listening to the vice principal’s thankful words, so she won’t be back for a while.”

“I don’t know why you would tell me about that…”

I know that the vice principal isn’t some scary final boss, but it still is scary to hear about that.

“Maka-sensei.”

“Yes.”

“I…don’t want you to quit at Seikadai.”

“…That sure came out of nowhere.” Maka-sensei said, as she looked outside the window.

I could hear the voices of the sports clubs reaching us up here. Out of nowhere, huh…That might be true. I was thinking about that on a constant basis, but Maka-sensei probably didn’t expect to hear this at such a timing.

“I don’t have any plans on quitting. My father is paying a lot of the living expenses right now, but I need to pay my part.”

“But…depending on my actions, you will quit, right?”

“Indeed.” She said, showing absolutely no hesitation.

A year has passed since our ‘special relationship’ began. I can tell when she’s serious, and when she’s just joking.

“But, I don’t want you to quit, disregarding my own feelings. Now that I’m a third-year, with a new environment, I want to see everything with you—that’s what I feel.”

“There’s other teachers besides me. We even got a new one this very year.”

“I don’t care about that. I think that this school needs a great teacher like you, Maka-sensei. I…People like me, we need someone like you.”

“I see…” Maka-sensei muttered, as she gazed outside the window, with a distant look in her eyes.

I want her to look at me. Give me attention, and answer my words. But, I know that I’m asking for the impossible. From the very beginning, Maka-sensei said that she would quit as a teacher if I confessed to her. This isn’t something she vaguely decided on. Yet, I only found out now what I really wish for. There’s no way I would be able to win over Maka-sensei’s determination with my fragile reasoning.

“That’s right, there is something I wanted to say as well.”

“…What is it?”

“I held off for a while because you seemed to be busy at the beginning of the school year, but this is great timing. Let’s continue our talk from the day of the graduation ceremony.”

“Is that…”

“The graduation exam. Saigi-kun, this is a special exam only granted to you.”

“Because I am a problem child after all. I’m used to special punishments.”

“I didn’t call it a punishment.” Maka-sensei showed a wry smile. “Saigi-kun. I want to know of your feelings. If I’m not wrong, they are exactly what I wanted them to be.”

“………”

“I can’t blame you for staying silent there. I know all too well.” Maka-sensei directed her gaze towards me.

Even though I wanted her to look at me, I suddenly felt terrified.

“It’s not as complicated as you might think it is. The time limit for your response—is your own graduation ceremony.”

“Eh…until then?”

“I know it sounds like a long time, but you are busy with other things right now, aren’t you.”

“…Right.”

A full year after I first heard of her mentioning this graduation exam…

“The content of this exam—is your decision. Confess your feelings to me, and have me quit as a teacher, or graduate as my student, and have me continue as a teacher. Choose between the two.” Maka-sensei announced, oddly indifferent.

At the same time, I was fairly calm myself. Surprisingly, I expected something along those lines. Everything I had pondered about, she merely put it into a shape called ‘exam’. That being said…

“This is the graduation exam? Other than the time limit, it’s pretty much the same I heard about…”

“I just put it into exam shape. At this rate, time will pass on without you coming up with an answer, right?”

“R-Right…Probably…”

I am given a choice now. At the same time, she removed my third choice, which would have allowed me to confess after I graduated, probably because she was aware of my feelings. At the same time, there’s also no choice of me not taking this exam. It would mean that I betrayed Maka-sensei’s serious feelings. I can’t do that either.

“I…have to decide?”

“Yes, I never really gave you much choice before, so this time—I want you to be the one deciding.”

“…That’s not an easy choice you gave me.”

This might be the most cruel exam I’ve had to face. Maka-sensei only gave me the choices. But, that’s to be expected. She’s not pushing them onto me, just keeping them open.

“That is quite the troubled expression you have on your face…But, that makes sense. Holding an exam without an extra lesson for it would make me a failure of a teacher.”

“Hmm…? Maka-sensei?”

“Then, I’ll take a day off for that.”

“Um, what are you plotting, Sensei?”

“Of course, a special class specifically for the exam.”

The following day, after classes came to an end. No more classmates were present in the classroom. I’m not the only one who’s busy as a third-year, after all.

“Then, let us start Maka-sensei’s pre-graduation exam special presence class.”

“Special class…Are we really doing this?”

During the final homeroom of the day, Maka-sensei ordered me to stay behind for special supplementary classes. She put ‘Supplementary class in progress – No entry’ on the door of the classroom as well, written on paper with a bright red pen.

“I received permission from the student head. For these times of things, it’d be better to do it broadly.”

“I feel like the past ‘education’ is something you always did behind everyone’s backs…”

“If you let everyone know, they won’t dare to peek inside.”

“Let everyone know!?”

“If you reach a level like mine, telling them once will be enough to make them understand.”

“…Even though the vice principal walked in on us last time?”

“Then, let’s start!”

She completely ignored my retort. Maka-sensei sure has gotten strong…Though she was pretty overpowered before. Today, she wore her usual navy blue suit, together with some red glasses on her nose. She looked the same as the teacher in the R15 erotic video we watched last year. It’s like she’s cosplaying a teacher…oh wait, she is an actual teacher.

“You say that…but is there really anything you need to teach me for this graduation exam?”

“We’re at school, and I am a teacher. I can’t let you take an exam without teaching you anything. Even if it is a special time-limited graduation exam only for you, Saigi-kun.”

“Huh…”

If you ask me, at the core of it all, the exam is fairly simple. What kind of class is she even thinking about?

“First, a short rehearsal. This is Fujiki Maka-sensei, and this is Saigi Makoto-kun.”

Maka-sensei drew rough portraits of the both of us on the blackboard. How is she that good at it…

“Despite being a teacher, Maka-sensei fell in love with her student Saigi-kun.”

“………”

Hearing it this straight from her mouth, it really is embarrassing.

“However, Saigi-kun is twisted to the core, and has harbored a strong hate towards teachers because of a certain incident, and was treated as a problem child all the way from grade school to high school. Would such a student be able to fall in love with a teacher? In order to solve this problem, I decided on my ‘education’.”

Yes, I’ve known that for a while now.

“It took an entire year, but at the end of it all—Saigi-kun has changed.”

“…So, is this summary really necessary?”

She drew a line from her avatar to mine, adding a ‘Love <3’ on top of it, and drew a line backwards from my avatar to hers, adding ‘Extermination’. Come on now, I never thought of doing something vulgar like that.

“Us teachers love explaining things like this, so don’t mind me.”

“Is that so…”

“At the same time, in order to be alone with you like this in broad daylight, I offered to correct you, the problem child.”

“You really are doing it broadly!”

Should you really be saying that you used your job in order to be alone with me? Correction—is easier said than done, but it worked out just fine. At the same time as she played with me during her ‘education’, she really turned me into a proper student. We did the ‘education’ in the shadows of everyone’s eyes.

“However, if I don’t teach you like this, your correction was for nothing, right?”

“It’s bad manners to sit on a desk.”

Maka-sensei approached the front of my desk, and sat on it. Her thighs, covered by her tight stockings were right in front of me.

“Oh my, warning a teacher is quite the rebellious behaviour. What a bad child you are.”

“…What are you doing?”

Maka-sensei took off her navy blue suit top, and threw it onto a nearby desk. She only wore a blouse beneath that, and after slowly opening up the buttons…

“We’re inside a classroom right now, you get that!? What if someone sees us!?”

“After all this ‘education’, you’re still not used to my skin?”

“You are way too used to being seen like this! Think of where we are right now!”

From the opening of her blouse, I could see a black bra and white skin. If another student saw us like this, there’s no more excuses we could make!

“Don’t worry, this is a bra that can be seen.”

“In what world is a bra something that can be seen by a student!?”

“I’m joking, it’s a perfectly normal and erotic bra.”

“I prefered the other one…”

“You really know how to complain. How cheeky of you.” Maka-sensei poked her index finger at my cheek.

Rather than me being cheeky, it’s more like there’s way too many things I need to retort on with her.

“That being said, we can only do this sort of thing in school for a limited time.”

“Eh?”

Maka-sensei let out a deep sigh. She brought her body closer, as if to show off her bra.

“From today onward…the correction of class 3A’s Saigi Makoto-kun will be over.”

“…Over?”

“I was shocked. The other day, the vice principal told me ‘It took an entire year, but great work on correcting Saigi-kun’, you know!”

“Did she now…”

Was my correction that important? Dear vice principal, was I that much of a problem child?

“That being the case, I can’t exactly call you to the student counselling room or the English preparation room anymore. Now I can only fabricate some fake rebellion…”

“I’m not James D*en…”

“I don’t expect you to act rebellious in your third year.”

“There are third-years who tend to get rebellious late.”

There indeed are…Like a former student council president for example.

“That being the case, today’s goal is to test if Saigi-kun really has changed…as a final confirmation.”

“So I’m finally free…This air is so fresh.”

“What movies are you watching for you to be influenced like that…”

“To be fair, I barely caused any problems in my second year. Maybe I really changed…”

“W-Wait a second, Saigi-kun. Are you fabricating fake memories right now?” Maka-sensei looked at me like I was some idiot. “You took a high school girl wearing a swimsuit into the middle school division’s staff office, you were stirring up the students while the student council president colored her hair blonde, you produced some weird exhibition match that was full of splays, and almost went crazy for the Fire Storm at the culture festival. Not to mention at the field trip—”

“Ah, sorry about that. I was wrong.”

Now that she started counting all of these incidents, I might have been wrong. Most of these cases involved me getting wrapped up in the mess, but when it came to clearing up the trouble, I often played a great role. Vice principal, I guess that my correction failed after all.

“However, it’s different from the trouble you’ve previously caused. You did it to help someone else, and the vice principal seems to be aware of that, which is why she decided to end this. I accept that. Great work, you did your best.”

“O-Okay.”

Even though we were talking about the graduation exam, and the special class for this, we’re suddenly drifting off-topic. I guess that this is a load off the vice principal’s shoulders.

“Honestly speaking, I’m relieved. I had the responsibility for this, and I’m glad that you’ve changed. Especially this early before your graduation.”

“I’m sorry for your trouble…”

Considering that my hate for teachers has continued for almost all my life, it’s quite the feat Maka-sensei achieved.

“Hm? So you decided on starting the graduation exam now that my correction succeeded?”

“You can say that. If you hadn’t been fully turned into a proper student, then there’s no way we both could focus on the graduation exam.”

“W-Well…I guess that makes sense.”

Since my correction is a proper job on its own, she wouldn’t have been able to bother with the graduation exam if that wasn’t done.

“We need to take care of the exam talk while we can. Once the correction is officially over, we won’t be able to spend as much time together.”

“I already understand what the exam is about. We don’t need this special class.”

I guess today’s main topic was the part about my correction. And, besides that…

“From now on, the time we will be able to spend together will lessen drastically. That’s what I meant when I said we won’t have much more time.”

“…Right.”

The time in this third and final year will pass rapidly. And yet, we will have less time together than in my second year. I guess she enjoyed spending time with me like this, without having to worry about secrecy. That being said, flashing her underwear is still no-good.

“That being the case, today is the last day you will get to taste my body at school, you know?”

“I never got a taste, right!?”

“Can you really say that?”

“…N-Not really.”

All the events of the past year, especially that Christmas night, came rushing back into my head. We did some crazy things here at school, huh. Although it ended safely, the memories from that Christmas night still come back to me at times. How can I forget?

“B-But, I’m shocked that you left the final time to a teacher’s cosplay and showing me your underwear.”

“Fufu, how naive of you, Saigi-kun.”

Maka-sensei brought her chest even closer to me. Her breasts were swaying right in front of my face.

“After I’ve shown you all sorts of stimulative clothes and appearances, giving you lewd glances like this is much more effective. Showing the most skin isn’t always important.”

“It’s pretty late for you to arrive at this conclusion…”

The peeking bra sure is erotic…And, she smells really nice…

“You’re only being stimulated by my clothes…but not complaining about it in general…Great, it seems like I succeeded.”

“I think there would have been a better way to check for that!”

“I can only do it this way…Right?”

“……!”

Maka-sensei tightly embraced my body. My face was pressed into her soft, warm breasts.

“S-Sensei…!”

“To think everything will end like this. Even though I should be happy, I don’t want it to end. I am a failure as a teacher, I guess.”

“………”

Maka-sensei hugged me like I was a plush toy of hers. It’s like she doesn’t want to let me go—Even though we will keep seeing each other tomorrow, and the day after.

“I want to hear that you like me. How great things would be if we could go out, knowing of each other’s feelings…”

“…But, we can’t do that.”

“We sure can’t.” Maka-sensei said with no hesitation.

Just when I thought she was wavering a second—she turned it around. I think that, through being taught by her, I’ve become stronger. But, Maka-sensei had always been strong. It’s probably not even as simple as her being an adult. Even strong people get weak for a moment. I am still lacking this strength. I can’t even embrace her back like this.

My correction ended, and now I have to focus on the graduation exam. But, what kind of answer should I put on my answer sheet?
