Epilogue

“Now for the announcement! The winner of this year’s Seikadai High School Division Culture Festival Miss-Con is—Drumroll….Tada!”

Nui held the mic in her hand, as she jumped up once on stage.

“—Seikadai Grade School Division’s Shinju Muku-chan! …Wait, why!?”

Nui agonized up on stage. I’m shocked she has that much energy, really.

“On a side note, since Kuu-tan is still too young, she can’t participate in the after-festival! Also, I had no idea that this school was a nest for lolicons! I guess that’s Kuu-tan’s charm for you!”

Leaving aside Nui’s sudden appearance as the announcer, I really didn’t expect Kuu to take it this year. Then again, Kuu’s been here on day one and two, and since she often comes over to play here, it’d make sense of a lot of people to know her.

“On a side note, Manasshii made it to second. Was quite the slim margin.”

“Ah, Shiya-chan. Well, our stage play took first place in the ranking, so Nui is satisfied with that I guess. How’s it going over there?”

In the center of the sports grounds burned a large pile of logs. So that nothing could go wrong, the Senpais from university and a few teachers have gathered around it, observing the fire. If we hadn’t done that, the complaints from the outside would not have subsided. As proof for safety, we have pictures and videos.

This idea came from the third- and fourth-year university students, as they offered to take the responsibility. They really are diligent guys. That being said, the event where Enri would smash a burning ball into the pile of logs to start the fire was cancelled after all.

“I was planning on watching over it as well, but the Senpais sent me away because I was scaring the other students with my blood-shot eyes.”

“What are you doing…”

You can’t just ruin the event after all the hard work you went through.

“Ah, the dance started. Mako, how about you go for one?”

“Sadly, I don’t have anybody to dance with.”

Music started playing from the sports grounds speaker. Everyone carefully looked around for a partner to dance with, as a ring built around the fire. Though it’s all the normies as of right now.

“Nui is an idol, so she can’t dance with anybody. Karen-senpai isn’t even here for the after-festival, not wanting to stand out more after the play. Miharu’s staff as well.”

“My, how sad. Normally I’d offer you a dance with this beauty of a university gal, but…” Shiya-chan turned her back towards me. “I’m still like your Onee-chan, Mako. I thought you were a bit cool before, but…you’re still my cute little brother. Rather than kissing you, I feel like rubbing your head instead.” She said, her back still turned towards me.

That back looked awfully lonely to me.

“I don’t think love can exist between the two of us.”

“…Shiya-chan?”

“And, there’s someone who’d love to dance with you it seems, fidgeting around like that. So, I’ll just be the guard.”

“Eh?”

Following Shiya-chan’s gaze, I spotted—

“Maka-sensei…”

“I-It’s not like I wanted to dance with you, Saigi-kun! If we were to dance, some odd rumour would spread again!”

She’s still continuing her tsundere act? Not to mention that Shiya-chan walked away…So now it really is just the two of us. The voices of the students in the distance sounded so far away.

“So after Miharu-san, now Keimi-san dropped out as well. Fufu, the clean-up going great I see.”

“Hey now, don’t say something scary like that.”

But, I guess that’s what it was. Shiya-chan went back to being my Onee-san, just as much as Miharu went back to being my little sister.

“Well…a bit should be fine…The other students are focussed on the Firestorm after all. But, that’s how things are supposed to be, after everything we went through, right?”

“Wah…”

Maka-sensei pulled my hand towards the corner of the school grounds. The fire of the campfire didn’t reach all the way over here, leaving it dimly-lit and dark.

“Come on, Saigi-kun. Get on with the rhythm. Match up with me.”

“I-Is this going to be okay? What if someone sees us…”

“The other teachers are dancing as well, look.”

I traced Maka-sensei’s gaze, and spotted the white-robed Hiyori-sensei dancing, with several people lining up to be the next partner.

“If they see you here, they’d chase you until the end of the world.”

“I’m good at running away.”

“That’s what I expected from someone who has kept her clumsy personality hidden for 24 years.”

“Not even Fuuka-sensei saw through me, you know.”

“You’re not even denying it anymore, I see.”

Dancing along awkwardly with Maka-sensei, I thought about that person—Fuuka-sensei. What kind of words did she say to Maka-sensei, what kind of expressions did she have—and why is she not here anymore.

“Even though it was my generation to introduce the Firestorm, I didn’t even get to dance back then.”

“Eh? Why?”

“Because I was the Unobtainable Flower, of course.”

“Are you sure you weren’t just on a high horse?”

You’re not Enri, okay.

“Fuuka-sensei was worried about that as well. Since you’re here already, you might as well dance—she said. I’m sure she’d be happy to see me dance now.”

“I wonder if she would accept me as your dance partner.”

“Since you call her beloved fiat a ‘nightmare’, I highly doubt it.” Maka-sensei let out a snicker.

Well, I just wish that Fuuka-sensei taught Maka-sensei more about safety driving.

“You seem to be having fun, Saigi Makoto.”

“Hmpf, can’t believe you just left me alone, Sai-kun.”

“Sensei, are you cheating on Kuu because you thought she went home…?”

“Huh!? Why are you three here!?”

Witnessing the moment of me and Maka-sensei holding hands, the three members of SID appeared in front of me.

“I just acted like I went home, but watched over the after-festival. Couldn’t stand the fact that something might happen in my absence.” Karen-senpai crossed her arms.

“Now that everyone’s excited, they don’t need me as a moderator no more.” Nui grinned.

“Since Mother was at the gate, I could get inside again.” Kuu stuck out her tongue.

Hey now, is nobody paying attention anymore!?

“So you really met up with Fujiki-sensei after all. Now I can’t just sit around and do nothing.” Karen-senpai approached us, and grabbed my hand. “A lot of trouble happened this time around, but I can’t overlook such a secret rendez-vous such as this.”

“R-Rendez-vous…?”

“We from SID challenge you, Fujiki-sensei! This time, Saigi Makoto will fall into your hands! Specifically, mine!”

“I’m different from before! I’m just any beautiful gravure idol any longer!”

“I-I have more time than anybody else! I can still keep Sensei to myself after you’ve both grown old!”

Kuu, what are you talking about…? But, this is bad, SID is finally serious…I guess they stopped holding back for good.

“Really, your main appearances already ended. But, I guess I can reveal it to you here—I am Saigi-kun’s girlfriend teacher!”

“Huh? So what, Fujiki-sensei.”

“Girlfriend teacher? Why can you sound so confident about that, Maka-tea.”

“A teacher can’t be a girlfriend, Sensei~”

“…You brats.” Maka-sensei grit her teeth.

It pains me to say it, but these three are absolutely correct.

“Heh, say whatever you want. In all honesty, I was starting to feel a bit annoyed, so why don’t we make this the final battle.” Maka-sensei flashed an arrogant smile. “I’ll end SID as a whole. From today on—I am your enemy!” Maka-sensei laughed, and pointed her finger at the members of SID.

Miharu and Shiya-chan both retired. However, the three girls are still members of SID. It appears as if she’s fully intent on ending it all.

—Thus begins the final match of Maka-sensei vs SID!
