Afterword

In the Indonesian language, ‘Die!’ means ‘Mati1!’. Even after the greatest kind of verbal abuse, they hold enough consideration to restrain any illicit words. With their great variety of citizens and their culture, the Republic of Indonesia’s kind communication is a wonderful thing to watch.

This makes it the fourth time where I discuss Indonesian language in my afterwords, but every time I do so, I feel like I’m being overwhelmed by a noble, high-minded attitude. Just as I have said before, in my eyes, the Indonesian language is the most beautiful and admirable language, out of many of course, and there’s no room for counterarguments. Viva La Indonesia!

To change the subject for a brief moment, there are times when a light novel is translated and published overseas. Feeling excited beyond belief, I can announce that ‘The Invigorating Prince and Stony Cat’ has been brought to many countries and localities, and I received one such version just the other day. The size of the book itself surprised me a bit at first, and when I opened it up, I was in awe to find the afterword translated as well. Reading about ‘Cincin’ and ‘ChupaChupa’, I realized that this couldn’t have been written by someone with a proper mind.

Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on how you see things, a license has not happened for Indonesia yet, but in the one-in-a-million chance that this does happen, I sincerely hope that they don’t skip these afterwords. Because that would mean that I would score myself a cute Indonesian Onee-san as a reader. One day, when she might make her way to Japan, and possibly pick up the original, she would be shocked by the afterwords of volume 1-3 that she had never seen. She would hold the book in one hand and start blushing after finally understanding the meaning. Imagining this, my own body starts growing hot, and… and… Hentikan! Hentikan Hentai! (This will be the greeting this time)

Hello there, it’s Sagara Sou.

The unofficial perfectly safe and healthy ‘The Invigorating Prince and Stony Cat’, recommended by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has safely made it to the fourth volume. It is all thanks to my dear readers. Thank you very much. And if that weren’t enough, the first volume of the comic serialization was released last month. I truly lack the words to explain how unbelievably well-done it is. In case you feel tired from reading sentence after sentence with no end, or even if you don’t, feel free to give it a look. The creator Okomeken-sama has done some terrific work. At the same time, there will be a special campaign going on, offering special sheets showing Tsukiko being pushed down… I want it! I need it!

…However, I would like to set that aside for now and instead focus on the main story—or in this case, the short-story collection. What a wonderful word. That being said, they all have their place in the series, so I would like to go into a bit further detail here.

Chapter 1: Moonlight Lost World.

This happens even before the first volume. Taking ‘Chapter 0’ which was published online, I worked it into this story here and there. I was wondering if I should fix the strictly third-person version there, but I was scolded by my editor with a ‘Even if you do that, the only people who’d be happy about that will be three people and Sagara-san’, so I changed it. To those three of you, I’m sorry.

Chapter 2: Okinawa Happy End

This happens halfway into volume two. I was asked “Is this story really necessary?” quite a few times, but thanks to Kantoku-sama’s wonderful drawings, I grew strong in my belief that you might enjoy this story to some level at least. This is what the girls were doing, see? As a side note, my editor took a great liking to Moriya, and kept bothering me with horrible nicknames I dare not write here.

Chapter 3: The Church’s Sindbad

This is a story that happens before even chapter one of this volume. Since this is an important piece of information related to the main plot of the third volume, I’m sure that it might be enjoyable to know more about what led to all of this… But I guess maybe not? Also, isn’t this even more of a prologue than anything else…? Mumble mumble.

Chapter 4: Track-and-Field Diamond

This is a story that takes place after the third volume. Since this is a short-story collection of sorts, I wanted to include easy-to-digest stories that were like junk food. I’ve actually made a lot of different games before, but they were all rejected. I gained some precious memories, crying in my room at night while I had to rewrite this chapter. But, if possible, I would like to keep this as just my memory, and never ever go through something like that ever again.

Chapter 5: Illusionary Wonderland

This is a story after the third volume that happens at the same time as the fourth chapter. Of course, I had a model for the ‘Giant’s Daily-Life Land’. With collecting data as the main goal, I headed to an annex pool at the peak of summer. I was seduced by all the fairies in swimsuits, and thus I spent all my time playing in the water until the pool closed. This is the reason why there are no actual descriptions of roller coasters in the chapter.

Naturally, after all this, the next volume will dive right back into the main story. I will try my best to get it out as quickly as possible, so please look forward to it.

To finish things off, I would like to give my thanks to Iwaasa-sama and all the other people involved in this in any shape or form. Naturally, the same goes for Kantoku-sama, who I find myself continuously bothering. Every time I receive rough drawings for the cover or color illustrations, I feel like I’ve come back to life. And I hope that this feeling has given you all a few hours of enjoyment.

Now then, I hope that I can talk to you all again soon.

Hentikan Hentai! (Greeting)

Sagara Sou

1 Sounds similar to the Japanese word ‘Mate!’ which means ‘Wait!’
