This is a slightly re-written and illustrated version of the short story I wrote in the November issue of 2011’s Comic Alive magazine. It was one part of Yokodera-kun and Tsukiko-chan’s daily life. The writing in itself made me go ‘Urk’ a few times, but that might just be my personal impression.

[Internet War]

This is a short story published in the ‘Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko. Kantoku Artworks’ publication in April 2014, with a few revisions and new illustrations. Tsukiko-chan had always taken great liking to the name ‘Seika’. As a side note, the heroine of my newest work [Oshiego ni Kyouhaku Sareru no wa Hanzai Desu Ka?’ is also called Seika, so please check it out if you have the time! (Shameless self-advertising).

These are all newly-written texts. They all felt like long epilogues, which I really enjoyed writing. I’m sure that most of you have figured it out by now, but the famous works such as [Run, Melos], [I Am a Cat], and [Sangetsuki] were important references.

This time around, Kantoku-sensei went all out again with the illustrations he added to these stories. Indeed, it was a pleasure to have him draw for me one last time. I can proudly announce that he is the world’s greatest illustrator, and I advise that we make him a national treasure. From covers to pin-ups to color illustrations to black and white illustrations, they always delivered more than I could ever hope for. When I saw the characters slowly growing up in the novel, and then in the illustrations, I felt like tearing up. I especially like the adult Tsukiko in Kantoku-sensei’s afterword.

Now then, I finished thanking everyone involved in the previous volume, so there’s not much more to say, but I’d still like to talk about things briefly.

During the entire time HenNeko was being published, a lot of things happened. When I couldn’t write, my dear head editor strangled me with his belt, I was invited to Thailand, Taiwan, China, Korea, etc, and yet when I think that this was all because of this one series, it still doesn’t quite feel real.

I’m sure that, for all you dear readers out there, a lot of things must have been going on, and a lot of things happened in all this time. Suffering, happiness, joy, crying; all of these emotions and different states are normal in this world, but if my stories happened to bring you even a bit of enjoyment, then I would feel honored. Really, thank you very much, everyone who stuck around until the very end. The story of HenNeko finds its end here, but their stories are long from over, and their lives continue.

As long as they remain in your hearts, Yokodera and the others will always be happy. At least that is what I would like to believe. At the same time, I sincerely hope that we can see each other again sometime.
